Also known as Charlies, the English Toy Spaniel breed is a member of the Toy Group and is represented by two varieties distinguished by color; the Blenheim and Prince Charles variety and the King Charles and Ruby variety.

Thank you for your survey responses regarding the 2020 ETSCA National Specialty.

Based on your feedback, the ETSCA Board met this morning and agreed to cancel our 2020 National Specialty. As such, we will begin working to plan our 2021 National Specialty and will keep the information flowing as the details begin to take shape.

Thank you for sharing your perspectives and for the many kind words that were received from the membership. If you have sent any reservations or orders for merchandise, I will be contacting you individually.

Best of Winner Points Announcement

AKC Change to Best of Winners Awarded Points

Dear AKC Exhibitor, At the December Delegates meeting a change was approved to Rules Applying to Dog Shows Chapter 16, Section 1 in how Best of Winners points can be calculated. As always, the dog or bitch awarded Best of Winners will receive the higher number of points awarded to the Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. The change that has been approved applies to when there are no points available to either the Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. In those instances, the number of regular class dogs in both sexes are added together. When compared to the point schedule, if the total sum of regular class dogs and bitches meets or exceeds the number of competitors needed for one point in its sex, the Best of Winners will receive one championship point. ENGLISH TOY SPANIEL

The Breed Standard

The English Toy Spaniel is a compact, cobby and essentially square toy dog possessed of a short-nosed, domed head, a merry and affectionate demeanor and a silky, flowing coat. His compact, sturdy body and charming temperament, together with his rounded head, lustrous dark eye, and well cushioned face, proclaim him a dog of distinction and character. The important characteristics of the breed are exemplified by the head.
